Thomas “Tom” Finke leverages over three decades of experience in the financial services industry to inform his role as the chairman and CEO of Barings, LLC. In this role, Thomas Finke has been integral in the firm’s growth, which now has more than $300 billion in assets under management.
Barings has been a strategic partner of the Milken Institute, a nonprofit think tank that aims to help people gain employment and live a meaningful life through access to educational resources and opportunities. In addition to conducting data-driven research, the Milken Institute hosts annual events, including the recently concluded Global Conference.
In its 22nd year, the annual Milken Institute Global Conference invited speakers who addressed a range of topics including technology, finance, public health, human capital, equality, and philanthropy, among others. The sessions and forums, which were spread across four days, focused on viable solutions to the challenges facing industry, government, and society. Alexandra Schueler, director of the Milken Institute’s Business and Program Development, delivered the opening remarks followed by a Philanthropy Symposium led by Richard Ditizio, president and CEO of the Milken Institute. Several industry executives from leading businesses such as Calvin Klein, The New York Times, The Walt Disney Company, Robin Hood, and Yahoo Finance served as panelists in fireside chats and sessions.
