About Thomas Finke
Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Thomas “Tom” Finke has cultivated success as an investment and banking professional over the course of more than 27 years. He prepared for his career by earning a bachelor of science from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce and a master of business administration from the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. After gaining experience in loan syndications and trading through positions at Mellon Bank and Bear Stearns and Company, Thomas Finke cofounded First Union Institutional Debt Management. Under his leadership, the firm managed over $3.5 billion in loans before Barings LLC purchased it in 2002.
In 2008, Thomas Finke assumed duties as Barings chairman and chief executive officer. He has since helped the firm amass more than $200 billion in assets, managing operations in over 20 countries worldwide.
In his free time, Tom Finke pursues a wide range of hobbies, including fishing, reading the works of Jeff Shaara, and golfing. A dedicated member of his community, he serves on a number of local financial boards, including the Capital Campaign Committee for Davidson College and the Investment Committee for the Diocese of Charlotte.Photos & Videos
