A graduate of the University of Virginia and Duke University's Fuqua School of Business, Thomas "Tom" Finke leads finance company Barings, LLC, as CEO and chairman. Also an active member of the Charlotte, North Carolina, community, Thomas Finke stands out due to his position on the investment committee of the Diocese of Charlotte.

Comprised of dozens of parishes in and around Charlotte, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte is currently led by Bishop Peter Joseph Jugis. As the administrative body responsible for the Catholic churches throughout the region, the Diocese maintains a finance committee and a strong set of financial governance standards.
As part of these standards, the Diocese employs the international public accounting firm Deloitte and Touche to conduct strict audits of the Diocese’s finances each year. These audits cover all aspects of the Diocese, including the central administration, the social services program, and all the Catholic schools in the area.
Additionally, the Diocese has established a dedicated investment committee as part of its financial governance initiatives. This committee provides financial oversight through its management of Diocese investments in an ethical and compliant manner.
